Question:
When a child is born, after shaving the head, how should one give sadaqah? Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
After a child is born, it is recommended to shave the child’s head on the 7th day (after performing the aqiqah), weigh the child’s hair, then give the equivalent in silver or gold or its value as sadaqah to the poor, however, gold would be more rewarding since a person pays more. After shaving the head it is recommended to apply Saffron or perfume to the child’s head.
