Working at Print shop

Question: Someone is employed in a print shop and a few times a week he gets an order with pics on it, would it be halal to work in such a place? بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The act of drawing or printing images of animate objects is prohibited. Therefore, we advise that you speak to your employer and kindly explain to him your religious beliefs and why you cannot print images of animate objects, and request him to excuse you from printing animate objects. If he complies, well and good, otherwise you should search for another job. For more details regarding pictures, kindly refer to the following link: https://daruliftabirmingham.co.uk/11059-2/

Nonetheless, if leaving this job immediately would cause great hardship, e.g. you are the head of the household and paying your and your family’s expenses depend on the income you make from this job, then do not resign immediately. Rather, along with working there, simultaneously search for another halal job. While being employed at this print shop, out of necessity, continue disliking the sin of printing animate pictures, ask Allah (SWT) for forgiveness, and make dua to Allah (SWT) to give you a lawful job.
