Is menstruating women prohibited from masjid ?

Question:

I wanted you to take a look at this link/article and it’s argument on the narrator of Hadith related to menstruating women prohibited from masjid. It states the Hadith is weak and the narrator is unknown? Do the Hanafi school consider this Hadith strong from Abu Daud?

https://hawramani.com/it-is-permissible-for-menstruating-women-to-enter-mosques-a nd-stay-there-for-lectures/ Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

There are scholars who consider the Hadith in reference saheeh (authentic) and scholars who consider it hasan (sound), hence this narration is used as evidence in the Hanafi school of thought to substantiate the prohibition of menstruating women entering the Masjid. [1] It is mentioned in Bazlul Majhood (commentary of Sunan Abi Dawud): “Shawkani said, ‘The Hadith is authentic (saheeh). Ibnul Qattan graded this Hadith of Jasrah which was narrated from Aisha as sound (hasan). Ibn Khuzaima graded this Hadith as authentic (saheeh)2.’ Ibn Sayyidin Naas said: ‘Upon my life! To consider this Hadith to be hasan (sound) is the lowest of its levels (i.e. a person cannot grade it lower than hasan) due to the reliability of its narrators and other corroborating evidence.’ In addition, Allamah Zaylai graded this Hadith as hasan in his book Nasbul Rayah3. As for the two narrators (Aflat and Jasrah) of this Hadith who have been criticized, scholars have defended their reliability. It is mentioned about Aflat in Bazlul Majhood: “Imam Ahmad said, ‘I do not see any problem with him.’ Abu Hatim said, ‘He is a shaykh.’ Al-Daru Qutni said, ‘He is pious.’... Al-Hafiz said, ‘Ibn Khuzaima has narrated his (Aflat) Hadith in his compilation of authentic Hadiths, reliable narrators have narrated from him, those who were mentioned earlier considered him to be reliable, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in the category of those who were reliable.``

As for Jasrah, Al-’Ijli said about her that she was a Tab’iee (one who has met the Sahabah) and reliable. Furthermore, Ibn Hibban mentioned her in the category of those who were reliable. [4]
