Gift card for maktab teachers

Question

Is it permissible for the Masjid board to purchase gift cards, as a token of appreciation, for maktab teachers using Masjid operations money?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Yes, it would be permissible. The gift cards purchased with operations money can be counted as part of the teacher’s salary. In today’s day and age, it is common for employers to give employees bonuses and gifts based on their performance; hence, there is no issue with this.
