Question:
Do injection shots which have nourishment break the fast ? Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Injections do not break the fast irrespective of whether they give nourishment or not because the medicine does not enter the stomach nor the brain directly. Rather, the medicine enters the veins via the injection, then by means of the veins the medicine spreads throughout the body.
Nevertheless, if a person takes an injection merely for the sake of gaining strength and making oneself independent of food and drink, without having a genuine need for the injection, then it would be disliked for them to take such an injection.1 Only Allah knows best Written by Maulana Mohammad Ahsan Osmani
