Hafiza correcting Hafiz

Writer: ICP WebICP Web

Question:

If a Hafiz (male) leads Taraweeh prayer at home, would it be permissible for a Hafiza (female) who is a mahram (e.g. sister) to correct him should he make a mistake? Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Yes, it is permissible for a Hafiza to correct the Imam who is her mahram. However, if there are strange men in the congregation (non-mahrams with whom marriage is valid), it would not be appropriate for her to correct the Imam due to the possibility of fitna (i.e. the men becoming attracted to her voice, etc.).1
