Hafiz not praying in jamaat

Question:

Should a hafidh who only attends jumuah salah be allowed to lead the taraweeh prayers in Ramadhan?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Prayer in jamat is wajib (necessary). Therefore, if you are sure the Hafidh referenced is discarding prayer in jamat without a valid excuse, we advise appointing someone who is more adherent to the Shariah to lead the Taraweeh. If no one more qualified than him is available, then you may nominate him as the Imam.
