Jumma Prayers

Question: My question is there two juma prayers or just one?


Answer:


In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful,


Assalamu Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,


There is only one Juma prayer, however multiple Juma prayers can be performed in the same masjid when necessary and when masjid is unable to house all the worshippers at the same time.


Mufti Mahmood al-Hasan (ra) has permitted the performance of two Jummahs in one Masjid in the time of need. The prohibition of second congregation in one Masjid will not apply in such a case.
