6 month old Lamb

Question: What’s the deal with 6-month lamb? Do they have to be the same size as 1-year-old sheep to be valid for Qurbani, or them losing baby teeth is sufficient? بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

If the 6-month old lamb is so big in size that if it were to mix with the 1-year old lambs the onlooker from afar would be unable to distinguish between them, i.e. the 6-month old lamb blends in with 1-year old lambs, then it would be permissible to slaughter such a lamb for Qurbani. Regarding the 6- month old lamb, its size, as explained earlier, is taken into consideration for the validity of Qurbani, hence losing the baby teeth is not sufficient.
