Question:
Is there a اﻟﺪﺧﻮل ﻗﯿﺪ in the impermissibility of marriage to daughter-in-law in the ayah ﺣﺮﻣﺖ اﻵﯾﺔ اﻣﻬﺎﺗﻜﻢ ﻋﻠﯿﻜﻢ?
Answer:
ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Allah (s.w.t.) says, “And (prohibited for you are) the wives of your sons from your loins.” (Surah Al-Nisa: verse 23) In this verse, there is no condition of dukhool (penetration) mentioned for the prohibition of marrying the daughter in law to take effect. Hence, after the marriage, the daughter in law immediately becomes prohibited for the father in law forever irrespective of whether the son had intercourse with her or not due to the generality of the verse.
