Answer

It is mustahab (desirable) to shave the child’s head on the seventh day after performing the *aqeeqah*, giving the equivalent of the hair’s weight in silver or gold or its value in cash. Nevertheless, shaving the head is not contingent on slaughtering, e.g., if a person delays the *aqeeqah *beyond the seventh day, this does not entail that one should delay shaving.

There is no narration regarding shaving at a specific time after the seventh day. Thus, if a child’s head was not shaved on the seventh day, it may be shaved at any time. In conclusion, a male may shave his head whenever in adulthood, regardless of whether he does it after his *aqeeqah* or before.
