Question:
In Witr after dua qunoot, are we allowed to read any other duas from Hadith and Qur'an?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Yes, we are allowed to read other duas from the Quran and Hadith. In principle, there is no specific dua that must be read in qunoot. However, it is best to read the dua “Allahumma innaa nastaeenuka…”. If he reads a different dua, it would be permissible on the condition that the dua does not resemble the speech of people (in other words, that which is being asked for can only be sought from Allah (SWT), e.g. forgiveness, entry into Jannah, etc.).

If he adds an additional dua to “Allahumma inna nastaeenuka…”, that would be good, however, it should not resemble the speech of people. Furthermore, if he were to add another dua to “Allahumma inna nastaeenuka…”, it would be best to add that dua which the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم taught Hasan عنه االله رضي to read in his qunoot, i.e. “Allahummah dinaa fiman hadayta…”
