Menstruation during work

Question:

A woman’s menstruation ends whilst she is at work, however, there is no shower at her workplace and it is time for Zuhr. Can she make wudu and pray without taking a shower.

Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful After a woman’s menstruation has ended, it becomes necessary for her to take a ghusl (ritual bath) and it is not sufficient for her to make wudu and pray. If she prays without taking a ghusl, her prayer will be invalid. As a solution to this problem that many women face, if there is enough time (after work) to take a shower at home and pray in the prescribed time, then you may delay your Zuhr prayer until you reach home. If that is not feasible, perhaps you can adjust your lunch break in such a way that it gives you ample time to go home, take a shower, pray, and make it back to work on time. If that also does not work, we advise you to explain your situation to your supervisor/manager and the importance of fulfilling your religious obligation. InshaAllah, with your dua and effort, Allah (SWT) will make things easy. Raddul Muhtar: v. 1, p. 303-304 (Maktaba Imdadia)
