Intercession of Alim

Question:

Is this a Hadith or a saying of any Sahaba.. an alim can take 70 people to janat? And what is the status of this Hadith? Saaiduna Ibn Umar Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam has said that an Aalim (scholar) will be told that he could intercede on behalf of his disciples even if their number matches the number of stars”. (Sunan Dailami)

Can you mention any other ahadith regarding alim’s intercession? Answer: ﺑﺴﻢ اﷲ اﻟﺮﺣﻤﻦ اﻟﺮﺣﯿﻢ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

We have not come across such a hadith. However, there is a hadith that mentions that the Shaheed (Martyr) will intercede on behalf of seventy members of his family (Abu Dawud: Hadith 2522) Regarding the status of the hadith mentioned in Sunan Dailami, we have not come across this hadith, hence we cannot comment on it. There is a narration with a weak chain that the Prophet (SAW) said, “Three people will intercede on the Day of Judgement: The Prophets, then the scholars, then the martyrs.” (Ibn Majah: Hadith 4313; Hashiyah As-Sindhi ‘alaa Sunan Ibn Majah: v. 2, p. 585 [Darul Jeel- Beirut])
